Second Saturday Presenting Alan Barnard and Paul Rideout
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – June 2, 2011- Second Saturday is a mecca of art exhibits, music playing in the air, where the locals can come together and have some wholesome fun. This event has been a regular hit for years. It’s time for the family to come out and enjoy food and take the children to museums and art exhibits. Local artists are able to show off their talent by hosting exhibits in untraditional spaces.
Cyber Electronik, will be hosting an exhibit titled, “Bikes in Motion”, by the talented Alan Barnard. Alan has used Bicycle Month as his inspiration for his photographs. “Alan takes painterly photographs of bicycles, his eye seeing their individual personalities and making them apparent to the rest of us”, says Gallery 2110 owner Clare Bailey. “He brings out a personality or mood with each subject. Some appear feisty with a ready to roll attitude, while others like the image of a bike leaning into the vine covered wall appear melancholy.”
Adding some more excitement to the walls of Cyber will be some ceramic pieces by Paul Rideout AKA Palul. With his extensive background in science, Rideout interprets the connection between the physical and spiritual. He says, “My favorite themes are those of semi-abstracting the landscape and the human body. Frequently, figures are included in mystical ways… floating, diving, dancing, rolling and twisting. Textures, colors, forms and symbols make up my palate.” We welcome everyone to stop by and check out the artwork. Those who are interested in buying the pieces can speak with the artists directly, as they will be in the building. Some fine tunes by, Strategik North, will also accompany the art. Have some fun in the sun!
